Built in the early 1900s, this character home had seen a series of non-period renovations over the decades that obscured its original charm. Designed by Jessop Architects, the project was a complete transformation — not only restoring the home to its heritage character, but doing so through the lens of Passive House design, ensuring it performs to modern standards of comfort, efficiency, and functionality.
With heritage controls in place, numerous architectural components were carefully re-created to meet strict guidelines, particularly across the street-facing elevation. The result is a striking blend of historic authenticity and high-performance living.
The outdoor spaces were also fully reimagined, including comprehensive landscaping, new boundary fencing, and the addition of a rear cottage that maintains the character of the main dwelling while offering a peaceful outlook over the garden.
